Official Fraud Alert: How to Spot Fake FluxJet Websites & Scams

Official Warning Banner: Fake FluxJet Kayak Websites

Since winning "Best of Show" at ICAST, FluxJet Kayaks has seen an explosion in demand. Unfortunately, this popularity has attracted a wave of sophisticated scam websites and social media ads pretending to be us. These fraudulent sites use our official videos, stolen photos, and the FluxJet logo to trick customers into paying for products that do not exist.

We are publishing this official guide to help you protect your money. If you see a deal that looks too good to be true, it is 100% a scam.

āš ļø CRITICAL: The "Zero Inventory" Reality

Scammers often claim to have "Warehouse Clearance" or "Overstock" sales. This is impossible.

FluxJet Kayaks is the exclusive manufacturer. Inventory is tight worldwide. No random website, outlet store, or liquidation site has access to our inventory. Unless a seller is listed on our Official Dealer Map, they do not have the product.

The ONLY Safe Ways to Buy

To ensure you receive a genuine FluxJet with valid support, purchase only through these two channels:

1. Official Online Stores

2. Authorized Retailers

You can find legitimate retailers using our Dealer Locator.
Note: Retailers may have limited stock. We strongly recommend you contact the store directly to confirm availability before visiting.

Anatomy of a Scam: 6 Red Flags to Watch For

Scammers are becoming more sophisticated. They use professional-looking templates (often on Shopify or Wix) that mimic legitimate brands. Here is how to spot them.

🚩 1. The "80% Off" Price Tag

This is the biggest giveaway. A FluxJet Kayak is a premium marine vessel with advanced propulsion technology.
The Scam: You will see listings for $99, $149, or $499.
The Reality: It is impossible to manufacture, let alone ship, this product for that price. If the price is under $3,499, it is a fake.

🚩 2. "Free Worldwide Shipping"

Shipping a large, rigged fishing kayak requires freight trucking, which typically costs $250–$400+ depending on your location.
The Scam: Fake sites offer "Free Express Shipping" to anywhere in the world.
The Reality: If they aren't charging for freight, they aren't shipping a kayak.

🚩 3. Social Media Ads (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)

Most victims report finding these sites through sponsored ads on social media. These ads often use stolen video clips from our YouTube channel or legitimate influencer reviews. Just because an ad appears on your feed does not mean it is vetted or safe.

🚩 4. Strange Payment Methods

Legitimate businesses process payments through secure gateways like Stripe, Shopify Payments, or PayPal.
The Scam: They may ask for payment via Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, Wire Transfer, or Cryptocurrency.
The Reality: These payment methods offer zero buyer protection. Once you send the money, it is gone.

🚩 5. The "Look-Alike" URL

Always check the address bar. Scammers buy domains that sound similar to ours.
Avoid URLs like:

  • fluxjet-outlet.com
  • kayak-warehouse-clearance.store
  • fluxjet-sale-usa.shop
  • outdoors-liquidation.net

🚩 6. Recent Domain Registration

You can verify any website by using a "WhoIs" lookup tool (like Whois.com).
The Scam: The website claims to be a "Trusted Dealer since 2010," but the domain was registered 3 days ago.

"I think I bought from a fake site. What do I do?"

If you suspect you have purchased from a fraudulent website, you must act immediately. These sites often vanish within days.

  1. Call Your Bank Immediately: Contact the fraud department of your credit card issuer or bank. Tell them you purchased from a fraudulent website and request a Chargeback.
  2. Freeze Your Card: Scammers may try to charge your card again or sell your information on the dark web. It is safer to cancel the card and get a new one.
  3. Report the Site: You can help take the site down by reporting it to Google Safe Browsing and the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
