Seat the connector
Make sure the magnetic safety connection is fully seated before operating the motor.
FluxJet motor safety
The FluxJet Security Lanyard connects you to the kayak's magnetic safety shutoff. If you are separated from the kayak, the magnetic connection releases and cuts motor power.
How the safety lanyard works
Make the lanyard part of every launch. Connect it before leaving shore and keep it attached while the FluxJet is under power.
Make sure the magnetic safety connection is fully seated before operating the motor.
Attach the clip to your personal flotation device so the lanyard stays connected to you while you are underway.
Route the coiled cord where it will not interfere with the throttle, steering pedals, seat, or other equipment.
Man overboard protection
The lanyard works with the FluxJet magnetic kill switch. If you go overboard or move far enough from the cockpit to pull the connection free, the motor shuts off instead of continuing under power.
Replacement and care
A safety lanyard should be easy to connect, securely attached, and free from damage that could prevent it from working as intended.
Order a replacement if the cord, clip, rings, or magnetic connection is missing, damaged, badly worn, or no longer connects securely.
A spare can prevent a lost or damaged lanyard from ending your day before the kayak ever leaves the launch.
The security lanyard is one part of safe operation. It does not replace a properly fitted PFD, good judgment, or the operating and safety instructions supplied with your FluxJet.
