FluxJet Kayak Ocean Fishing: ThumprFishing Goes Offshore
Share
Yes, ocean. You heard it here.
You have seen the FluxJet run shallow water, streams, and rapids. The Aggressively Average Anglers put it through the ultimate test on the Tennessee River, and owners keep posting their own trips. But the question we keep hearing is always the same: what about the ocean?
Here is the answer. ThumprFishing, a Florida-based angler, flew out to the West Coast, visited the FluxJet factory, and then went out in the ocean. His video is on the way, and he is going to help answer the ocean questions for everyone who has been asking, and for a few new people too.

From Skinny Water to Big Water
The FluxJet made its name in the skinny stuff. Shallow creeks, reed beds, stump fields, the kind of water that eats lower units for breakfast. The Tennessee River ultimate test showed it running rapids and skinny water back to back, and customers have been posting their own proof ever since.

Saltwater was never off the table. Customers have already been running bays and marshes. But the open ocean is a different animal, and that is exactly the question everyone keeps asking. So we sent a guy out there to find out.
The Guy Answering the Ocean Questions
ThumprFishing knows big fish. He came out to see the factory, then headed straight for the West Coast to put the FluxJet in the ocean. The photos in this post are from those days on the water.
Here is what he is putting to the test:
- Offshore range: how far out can you comfortably run, and how do you budget battery for the ride home
- Kelp and salad: how the jet drive handles floating kelp and grass
- Launch day: surf launch versus ramp launch with the FluxJet
- Real ocean days: what a full day of offshore fishing actually looks like from this kayak

Why Ocean Content Took This Long
The honest answer is that we have been busy building kayaks. Our goal has been more on the production side than the content side. Customers have been pushing out their own content, which we love, but the ocean questions kept coming and we did not have a real answer yet.
The short version: we build kayaks first, content second. Now ThumprFishing is filling the ocean gap for us, and his video is the one you have been waiting for.
