We want to start off by saying thank you. Because of your incredible support in the first round of voting, FluxJet has officially advanced to the final round of the Yak Tribe Peoples Choice Awards for Best Motorized Kayak.
This award means everything to our small team building boats by hand in Sacramento. There are no judges and absolutely no corporate influence involved in this process. Every boat that made the cut got there because the kayak fishing community voted for it. Now we need your help one last time.
The Final Matchup
If you look at the final ballot, we are up against some massive names. The top five lineup includes the Old Town Autopilot 120, Bonafide PWR 129, Bonafide XTR 130, Nucanoe Unlimited Max, and FluxJet.
We have a ton of respect for those companies. Old Town makes incredible platforms, but they rely on heavy external props. Bonafide and Nucanoe build fantastic fishing hulls, but motorizing them usually means you have to buy and bolt on aftermarket bow or transom mount trolling motors. We approach motorized kayaking from a completely different direction. We engineered a proprietary jet propulsion system first, and then we built an entirely new kayak around it.

Let Us Talk Power and Weight
We built this boat to be as simple and functional as possible. Our variable power architecture accepts a wide range of drop in marine batteries, supporting 12V through 60V voltages. However, you need to be smart about what you put in the battery box.
The Voltage Warning: We strongly advise against using batteries that are actively marketed as 60V lithium packs. These batteries frequently peak past 70V when hot off the charger. Hooking one up can fry your system. Instead, we recommend running a high quality 48V or 51.2V nominal marine battery. These packs typically top out around 58V when fully charged, keeping your boat performing safely beneath our 60V maximum input limit.

A Quick Note on Reverse: The mechanical instant reverse function is designed strictly for backing out of tight spots and pulsing water backward to clear weeds off the intake screen. Boats do not have brakes. Reverse is not meant for sudden stopping or primary navigation.

Can line or weeds still get tangled in the jet drive?
Our internal impeller architecture means there are zero exposed propellers to slash through weeds. However, it is structurally possible for loose braided fishing line or floating debris to enter the intake grate if you run directly over it. Proper line management inside the boat is still important.
What is the usable capacity and weight of the FluxJet?
The kayak features a 400 pound usable capacity. The bare hull weighs 88 lbs, the fitted hull weighs 112 lbs, and a fully rigged hull with the seat and battery box weighs 122 lbs.
Why is a 60V battery pack dangerous to use?
Batteries sold explicitly as 60V packs can peak at over 70V right off the charger, which exceeds our maximum voltage limits and will damage the electronics. Stick to 48V or 51.2V nominal marine batteries that peak safely around 58V.
