Genuine FluxJet part

The guard at the front of your jet drive

Every gallon of water your FluxDrive pushes out the stern comes in through this grill first. Its slotted design lets water flow into the jet intake while helping keep larger debris and objects out, reducing the risk of blockages and damage to internal components.

  • Genuine FluxJet replacement part
  • Helps protect the jet propulsion system from larger debris
  • Slotted design allows water into the jet intake
  • Direct replacement for the original intake grill

Engineered, not off the shelf

Over a year in development

We spent over a year refining the FluxJet intake to perform at a 4-inch running depth. The grate is shaped to shed vegetation like a skimmer as water flows in, and it sits flush with the hull, so nothing from the drive hangs below the kayak.

When to replace it

Keep your jet drive protected

Cracked

A cracked grill can let larger debris reach the jet drive. Replace it before your next outing.

Damaged

Bent or broken slots after a hard hit or rough launch.

Worn

Seasons of use in weeds, current and shallow water take their toll.

Keep a spare

Have one ready so a damaged grill does not keep you off the water.

On the water

Intake care, every trip

  1. Check the grate before each outingLook it over for cracks, damage, and anything caught in the slots.
  2. Slow down near heavy vegetationThe intake sheds vegetation like a skimmer, but no intake is clog-proof.
  3. Use a pulse of reverseReverse helps clear weeds and material that reach the intake.
  4. Always carry a paddleYour manual backup, and keep an eye on the battery meter.
IMPORTANT: Like any jet drive, the FluxDrive isn't foolproof. The grill blocks larger debris, but sand or small rocks that reach the drive can damage it. Avoid running over sand or small rocks.

Questions

Intake grill FAQ

Will this fit my FluxJet?
Yes. It is designed to fit the FluxJet kayak and is a direct replacement for the original intake grill.
When should I replace the intake grill?
Replace it if your original grill becomes cracked, damaged, or worn. Check the grate before each outing.
What if weeds get into the intake?
The intake is shaped to shed vegetation like a skimmer as water flows in, but no intake is clog-proof. Slow down when approaching heavy vegetation and use reverse to help clear material that reaches the intake. Always carry a paddle as a manual backup.
Does the grill stop sand and small rocks?
The grill helps keep larger debris and objects out of the jet system. Sand or small rocks in the drive can still damage it, so avoid running over them.
What are the dimensions?
17.5" L x 6.5" W x 4" D.
